Not Quite the Normal Normandy

It starts with a heavy boot sinking into ashen, damp sand. Despite the cold and alien landscape, this is a battle with a distinct familiarity: it’s harkening back, drawing inspiration, and twisting it in a new light. If you haven’t already sensed it, Killzone 2 is oddly recognizable. The vivid, iconic imagery of war parallels great battles from the past, and, of course, the games they inspired. But rather than being wholly derivative of what it so explicitly admires, the enormity of developer Guerilla Games’ vision puts it a cut above the rest. Continue »

BioShock Box Art Hints At ‘Home’ Release Before October?

Playstation 3 owners are eagerly awaiting their chance at either harvesting or saving the Little Sisters in BioShock. But what they probably aren’t expecting is that the world of Rapture will have some tie-in with Sony’s long touted Home.

Over on Digital Extremes’ website — a developer helping out with technical optimization — their BioShock PS3 box art boasts a Home logo. Does this mean that we will get Home before the release of BioShock in October? And with a Holiday game touting integration with Sony’s virtual world it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume that it will release before or very close to BioShock, making use of those features, whatever they may be. Time will tell, the time probably being Sony’s E3 press conference.
