Third Time’s the Charm For Batman?
More on: Batman: Arkham Asylum, Eidos, Electronic Arts, Lego Batman, The Dark Knight

As you may have already heard, Gary Oldman just can’t keep a secret. Last month he spilled the beans regarding Electronic Arts’ rendition of The Dark Knight in videogame form, bringing into question why we haven’t heard an official word on the troubled game. Further details on the project were recently revealed by Kotaku, and the general outlook was that of an open-world Gotham of meandering mediocrity. And then we have Lego Batman, which is, well… another Lego game.
Enter Eidos, comic rather than film license firmly in hand, with Batman: Arkham Asylum – perhaps the antithesis to all these sandbox superhero games of late. Contained only to the iconic location of Gotham’s freak filled mad house, Arkham will be more of a BioShock style experience. The Joker will be running wild within its walls, pulling the strings of other villains. Gameplay will focus on stealth, combat and thankfully some investigative elements; after all, if you forgot, Batman is a detective.
With Paul Dini penning the game’s story, and the talented folks Wildstorm comics handling the art, it seems as though the project is in good hands. When the September issue of Game Informer lands on shelves, we’ll have more details.

Not too excited about this. What’s the point of two Batman games? lol
